What’s It Like?

Takamisanzan is the collective name for three mountains: Takamizu-san, Iwatakeishi-yama, and Sougaku-san. Each peak is under 800 meters, making this a low-altitude trail, ideal for beginners exploring the Okutama area. The hike takes about 4.5 hours, with stops along the way at sacred sites such as Kogenji Temple, Jofuku-in Temple, and Aoi Shrine, which add a solemn atmosphere to the experience.
The trail is highly accessible, with the trailhead just a short walk from the train station and easy access to another station at the end of the descent.
