Today, I joined a walking tour organized by Ogawa Town. The tour covered an area within about a two-hour walk from Ogawa Station, and I was impressed by the town’s long-standing traditions in Saitama. I wanted to share this charm with others, so I decided to add a new page about it to this site.
Ogawa Town truly lives up to its reputation as the closest “Little Kyoto” to Tokyo, offering visitors a glimpse of its calm, historic streets. Just a short walk away, there are facilities where you can learn about Washi paper, recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
It takes only about an hour and a half by train from Tokyo, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing day trip to enjoy the satoyama landscape. I highly recommend visiting.
