Riding the Arakawa Line: My Journey

Sakura Tram Becomes Rose Tram

On May 9th, I finally experienced the entire Toden Arakawa Line, the last remaining tram in Tokyo, spanning 12.2 kilometers. Although it’s commonly known as the Sakura Tram, yesterday it felt more like the “Rose Tram” as roses were in full bloom along the route. With a total of 30 stations, I disembarked at several of them to explore the surrounding neighborhoods, including charming streets lined with shops, temples, shrines, universities, and parks. The fare is 170 yen per section, but with a one-day pass priced at 400 yen, you can hop on and off anywhere. Spending a day riding this tram around Tokyo is definitely worth it!
