While school cleaning culture plays a role, the true secret behind Japan’s spotless environment lies deeper: advanced waste management systems operated through strong local community cooperation.
On this tour, we will visit “Tsubasakan”, a modern waste management and environmental learning center in Kawagoe, Saitama. Over a relaxed 2-hour guided visit inside the facility, you will see the fascinating step-by-step process of how trash is collected, meticulously sorted, processed, and recycled.

- Meeting & End Location: JR / Tobu Tojo Line Kawagoe Station
- Facility Tour Duration: Approx. 2 hours inside Tsubasakan
- Transportation: Local public bus
- Closed Days: Mondays and Public Holidays (Facility closed)
Schedule Options
Please choose from Option A or Option B when booking:
Option A (Morning Session)
- 8:50 AM – Meet at Kawagoe Station
- 12:30 PM – Finish at Kawagoe Station
Option B (Mid-day Session)
- 10:00 AM – Meet at Kawagoe Station
- 1:40 PM – Finish at Kawagoe Station
Note: Please be punctual as bus services are limited. If you miss the bus, a taxi will be necessary.
Pricing & Payment
- Guiding Fee:¥16,500 per group (Up to 7 guests)
- Please pay in Japanese Yen (JPY) cash on the day of the tour.
- Facility Entrance: Free
- Transportation (Bus): Approx. ¥800 per person (round trip)
- The guide’s transportation expenses are included in the guiding fee.
